Back Pain

Postby Trey on Wed Jun 06, 2007 11:02 pm

I am experiencing low back pain that feels as if my back in is a bind. It is not a throbing pain. When I sit there is no pain. But if I stand for a while it begins to hurt and I cannot walk for long periods of time without it hurting. Today I had pain on both sides of the back but towards the middle area. It would hurt when I turned side to side. Took a pain med (which I hardly ever take), applied some NutriCool and applied a heating pad. The pain went away after a while but am still sore in this area.

I have been drinking far more soda than I usually drink and wonder if dehydration could be the problem with the pain experienced today? Also, any recommendations for exercises to help with the lower back pain? Any other suggestions? I do perform the cleanses two times during the year.

It is possible that dehydration may play a role in the soreness and discomfort that you are experiencing. Fortunately, drinking ½ your body weight in ounces of purified or distilled water and cutting back or eliminating soda and other caffeinated drinks should remedy this fairly quickly. I would strongly suggest visiting with a chiropractor for an evaluation to determine whether the pain is related to a damaged or poorly-aligned spine. A massage therapist, especially one that is certified in Active Release Techniques, may also be able to help address the root of the problem once you have been evaluated. Both of these practitioners should be able to offer specific exercises for you based on any injury that they might diagnose. The NutraCool is an excellent lotion to apply topically to help reduce discomfort and swelling. I would also suggest an enzyme product like Zymitol to help maintain normal inflammation levels. In addition, you may also want to consider performing some regular maintenance cleansing 2-3x per week and performing a liver/gallbladder cleanse.
