Disgruntled with new OXY Powder

I have been experimenting with magnesium oxides and particularly homozon for many years. I switched to your product several years ago because of the high concentration of magnesium oxide used. I have just received a new batch and you have not only increased the price, but have also reduced by about 220 mg the magnesium oxide. I also find it totally aberrant that you have added the filler gum acacia to the capsules. It ultimately inhibits the full action of the magnesium. I have never had problems in the past. I have taken 6 capsules every other night for almost 3 years now. I eat 75% raw foods and exercise daily. I also no from experience that it is best to wait between 3+5 hours before taking the dose at night. (no more ,no less). Last night I took the new batch and find it slow. I am not eliminating as usual and feel full and a little nauseous.. I am peeved and want to know why you just couldn't leave a good thing alone? Why have you reduced the magnesium oxide by 220 mgs. Is it to make more money??

I understand your confusion and will explain why these changes have taken place. First, let me assure you that the changes were not arbitrary or designed simply as a cost-saving measure. In fact, according to our CEO, this change has not resulted in a lower production cost in any way. It is mainly the result of updated FDA regulations regarding the type of machines used for encapsulation. We must change our existing machines to ones that are FDA compliant for registration in the USA as well as international standards in order to maintain our policy of complying with all current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Because the new machines have to run at higher speeds, we are unable to pack as much material in each capsule. Please understand that it is sometimes necessary to make changes in order to fully comply with regulatory changes and to maintain state-of-the-art technology. Even in light of this fact, I can offer you very strong assurances that Dr. Group would not jeopardize the efficacy or safety of the product simply for the sake of technology, money or for any other reason. That is simply out of line with his personal and professional philosophy and with GHC’s mission.

Despite the change in machinery and fill weight, we have taken some measures in order to offset it. Before describing this, I must clarify a common misconception about Oxy-Powder: Magnesium is not the primary active ingredient or cleansing agent. Monatomic Oxygen, bound to the magnesium matrix, is the active ingredient that actually produces the cleansing action. In order to avoid reducing the efficacy of the product, we instead opted to bond a slightly larger amount of our proprietary oxygen compound to a little less of the starting magnesium compounds. The result: this formula contains and releases exactly the same amount of cleansing oxygen as did the previous formula. The overall Oxy-Powder formula has not changed; we have simply bound more oxygen to slightly less of the base.

Regarding the organic gum acacia, we feel that this is the best organic and non-toxic flow agent to use with the new machinery and had to add a small amount to make the product encapsulation run smoothly. The organic acacia gum is the most natural agent we can use to make the product flow into the capsule without using toxic flow agents such as silicon dioxide or magnesium stearates. Following is some background information about gum acacia:

It is a substance that is taken from two sub-Saharan species of the acacia tree; Gum Arabic is a complex mixture of saccharides and glycoproteins, which gives it one of its most useful properties: it is perfectly edible and has a long list of health benefits.

This is entirely congruent with our philosophy of using the most organic, all natural, non-toxic, and effective ingredients in all of our products. The organic Gum acacia does not affect the cleansing properties in any way. The reality is that we use such a small amount that we are not even legally obligated to include it on the label. Since Dr. Group insists we disclose all of our ingredients to the consumer, he insisted that it be put on the label.
