Hi eveyone,, happy easter my name is karen im 34 and from liverpool, england,, i am wondering, can anyone share their personal experiences with me around fibro, about a yr ago i fell ill with god knows what, they thought it was ME, then due to having proufound pain in my eyes, (which was diagnosed as extreme dryness) a friend of mine who is a doctor advised me to go and see a rheumy, which i did and he thought it was sjogrens syndrome, ( primary) since then i have had numerous steriod injection, ( depo), and he is now thinkin of putting me on chemo,,, this concerns me greaty due to the fact that my bloods are normal, which i am aware can happen in 40 % of cases, but despite the profound pain, im my muscles, joints, and swelling, oh and not forgeting the fatigue, i have developed anxiety, which seemed to start when taking tablets,, i becamse sensative even to my painkillers, and can only take half of a co-codamol, which isnt too bad when i have the steriod injections because that dies things down a little, but i have now become anxious about taking tablets, horrible it is, my mum has fibro and has had it for nearly 14yrs ,, i see so much of myself in my mum, but the rheumy isnt convinced, and i am worried about going on chemo, or methatrexate when i just dont feel that my body is up to it, plus since being ill i have had kidney problems, headaches, hate noice, and light, have become sensative to the sun, have a sore throat, feel like i am choking sometimes, i do have a dry mouth, and thats why the rheumatologist came to his decision,, the worst thing of all is the burning skin, my skin burns, like as if i have burnt it in the sun, and i read that this can be a consequence of fibro,, any advice anyone can offer would be most gratefully appreciated
hugs
karen

Please allow me to be the first to welcome you the forum. Unfortunately, many of the symptoms that you describe are associated with Fibro and with autoimmune disorders in general. Your story is very common: multiple doctors, huge amounts of testing, medication, and misdiagnosis. Fibro is considered to be a diagnosis of exclusion, usually meaning that everything else under the sun is considered first. If you have not already done so, I would strongly consider contacting the Bowen Institute in order to have a QRiBb test performed. This test is very accurate in detecting the presence of the spirochete that causes Lyme’s disease. The symptoms for Lyme’s are nearly identical to Fibromyalgia and may possibly be one of the causative factors.
Fortunately, there are many natural products that may provide some support for people in your situation. In addition to this, I would strongly suggest working with a chiropractor or naturopath that has experience with Fibromyalgia treatment. Following are some supplements that you should discuss with him or her:
• Oxygenator: This liquid dissolved in distilled water can help to oxygenate tissue and help maintain normal inflammation levels. It can also support the immune system.
• Cleansing: An excellent way to jump-start any health program is by cleansing. A 7-day colon cleanse with Oxy-Powder, followed by a liver/gallbladder flush, and finished with a parasite cleanse can greatly aid the body in removing toxins, opening the channels of elimination and detoxification, and reducing the number of energy-draining parasites. An excellent protocol can be found at /www.ghchealth.com/liver-and-gallbladder-flush.html.
• NutraCool™: This topical lotion can be used anywhere that pain is present. It is completely natural and provides nutrients to help support normal pain levels.
• Terminator II- This “zapper” is very useful in helping to eliminate parasites and in assisting detoxification.
• Oregano Oil- This can be put into a capsule and taken with food a couple of times per day. Research indicates that Oregano Oil has very strong pain management properties externally and, for many, internally as well.
• TOA-Free Cat’s Claw- This herb can offer excellent immune system support and balancing for those with immune challenges. I recommend the product by Allergy Research Corp., Prima Una de Gato.
• It is also best to eliminate coffee, alcohol, white flour, white sugar, and micro-waved foods.
Please keep in mind that most supplements should be used for at least 3-6 months before evaluating their effectiveness.
Hopefully more fibro sufferers will read your posting and be able to share their personal stories. Sometimes it is the commonalities the we recognize that allow us to think about our health conditions in a new way. Many supplements and natural therapies often work for similar symptoms or underlying causes/triggers, even when the diagnosis is different. |
