The AMD bandages may be of some help in wound healing or, at least, I helping to prevent infection in the open wound. The problem most likely stems from the elevated blood sugar and damage caused by the diabetes. This is the issue that truly needs to be addressed. Topically, you can apply ozonated olive oil (O2-Zap) to the wounds; this will release oxygen and some ozone, which can help not only to stimulate healing but also to soothe and sanitize the area. Other compounds that have shown some benefit include organic, cold-processed Aloe Vera concentrate, such as R Pur Aloe, New Zealand Manuka honey, and DermaStrength. These have shown very positive results with bed sores and other types of ulcerations. You can also take systemic enzymes, Zymitol, internally which may also help to speed the healing process.
The true key to dealing with ulcerations is to prevent them. I would strongly recommend working with an experienced chiropractor or Naturopath in your area that can help you establish a protocol to keep blood sugar in check and deal with all of the possible complications that may arise.
