Hi,
I’ve just heard (one of my friends mentioned it during a chat) of a substance called elastin that supposedly determines how young your skin looks. If there is such a substance and a skin care range that feature it, I would very much like to find out more. So, just let me know if any of you can elaborate on these topics. |

| My physician saw me and recommended some energizing skincare product. He specifically mentioned clay as an ingredient that can really make you feel rejuvenated and relaxed. I don’t really know what to think but any news of clay based products is more than welcomed. |

Serious Skin Care Tips
Serious skin care is of vital importance because your skin is the largest organ of the body. Over time, your skin is subjected to negative surroundings and can sustain damage. Pollutants in the air, sunlight, and other negative environmental conditions can all contribute to damaging your skin. It is therefore vital that you use proper skin care products for your skin care treatment routine.
When your skin is young, the natural skin care repair mechanisms are at their peak and skin will continuously repair itself. However, as you grow older these same skin care repair mechanisms function less efficiently and that is when you begin to see the signs of damage. This damage appears in a variety of forms with the most common signs being age spots, overall color, wrinkles, pore size changes, and a general rough texture of your skin.
As the damage worsens, the skin begins to look aged, leathery, and have an irregular surface. It is therefore imperative that you treat your skin as the vital organ it is. Healthy skin maintenance calls for good nutrition and good skin care products.
Skin Care and Hand Care
Always wash your hands with a natural, mild skin care cleanser or soap. When using soap, try to use an antibacterial soap with vitamin E in it. Remember, after washing your hands, you have removed the natural essential oils that help keep your skin soft. Therefore, you should apply a small amount of hydrating lotion to your hands after washing. A hand spa skin care treatment that incorporates gloves and a high intensity, hydrating, and moisturizing skin care lotion or cream should be used once or twice a week for a more intensive hand care routine.
Cleansing Your Skin
The most important thing that you can do to shelter your skin from damage is by establishing a good skin care regimen. It is very important to clean your skin every day. Deep cleansing is vital as it keeps pores clear and skin healthy. Cleansing products should be as chemical-free as possible. Deodorant soaps should not be used on your face. They clean with harsh ingredients and leave a detergent film behind. This could aggravate your skin and clog your pores. After cleansing you should always add a moisturizing lotion to replenish the natural oils that have been removed.
Facial Skin Care and Makeup Removal
Facial skin care is a top priority for many women in today’s society. A good recommendation is to not go to bed with makeup on. Makeup left on overnight seeps into your pores, clogs them, and congests your skin. Make sure that your facial skin care routine includes washing your face two times when you go to bed, once to get the makeup off and a second time to wash the skin itself and once again when you get up before you apply your makeup. Keep a treatment and moisturizer on your face, day and night as this will help further moisturize your skin.
Scrub Your Skin
A good natural skin care scrub is necessary for healthy clean skin. It will remove dead cells and smooth the skin. The natural skin care scrub should be strong without being damaging. Stay away from scrubs that contain coarse elements like small bits of nut or seed extracts or pumice. They will tear and damage the skin. A good skin care scrub will invigorate you, not hurt you.
Skin Care and Moisturizing
Moisturizing is an important requirement for great natural looking healthy skin. For a thorough moisture treatment, use skin care products with high amounts of vitamin E, shea butter, squalene, and aloe vera. These types of skin care products work great as an under eye skin care treatment as well as an all-purpose moisturizing lotion. A good skin care tip is to always use a light moisturizer on your face and neck after cleansing. Moisturizing skin care products are also very effective after taking a bath or shower.
Pregnancy Stretch Marks
Many women suffer from pregnancy scars and stretch marks. When the skin is stretched excessively it causes tiny tears in the dermis layer causing a stretch mark or scar. Over a period of time stretch marks can fade in color, however the scars will remain if untreated. Even though stretch marks seem to be inevitable for many people, keeping the skin hydrated, moist, and elastic is one of the best ways to prevent them.
Skin care lotions and stretch mark creams are very useful in the process of keeping skin hydrated and elastic during pregnancy. You should use a topical skincare product that contains very high amounts of antioxidants and lipids which are essential to the protection and repair of scaring and stretch marks.
If you already suffer from stretch marks, high quality lotions and creams can help shed dead skin cells and aid in the process of replacing them with healthy skin cells. This will help reduce the scars associated with stretch marks from pregnancy.
Sun Protection Skin Care Tips
If you are going to be in the sun, then the use of sun protection will help to prevent the aging of your skin. The sun is largely accountable for wrinkling, blotchy pigmentation, thinning of the skin, broken blood vessels, dryness, texture changes, uneven color and some sun related skin diseases that make the skin look older.
Daily use of sunscreen products with at least an SPF of 15 and antioxidants along with protective clothing such as full-brimmed hats, long sleeved blouses and shirts, and slacks instead of shorts will greatly reduce the aging of the skin and the possibility of skin cancer. Facial skin care should also be of concern and sunglasses should be worn while outside. This will protect the eyelids from aging and will help reduce crows feet by reducing the squinting which comes from sun exposure without eye protection.
Exercise
Exercise is another great way to keep your skin strong and healthy. Exercise encourages capillary performance, which can decrease early aging. It also increases oxygen to the tissues, which helps your skin appear young. With age, extra weight can accumulate in areas under the chin, the neck or cheeks, giving the skin an older look. A combination of healthy nutrition, exercise, and proper use of skin care products can greatly improve the appearance of the skin. Drinking enough water is also important to keep you sufficiently hydrated as your skin is primarily made up of water.
Stress Relief
Get rid of the stress in your life. Stress can show up in your facial features, no matter how you take care of your skin. Your face tends to conform to the position or expression that you hold most of the time. If you often frown or scowl, your skin is more likely to develop lines or wrinkles between the eyes, down turning lines at the corners of the mouth, or other lines or furrows that conform to the frowning facial expression. A smiling, enjoyable, comfortable expression is good for your facial features and will help keep you looking younger.
Diet and Vitamins
The proper diet and vitamin intake is vital for healthy skin. By eating the right foods and supplementing your diet with vitamins and minerals you can assure that your body will function to its fullest potential. As a result, you will feel and look younger. Good eating habits can include eating fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains, and seafood. Try to stay away from processed foods or foods “made in a factory”. Also try to limit your intake of sugar foods like pop and candy or foods that have gone through a frying process.
As for dietary supplements, we recommend the following: one multivitamin, 400IU d-alpha tocopherol (vitamin E), 400mg mixed tocopherols and mixed tocotrienols (all natural vitamin E), 500mg vitamin C, and 1g fish oil (omega-3). Diets should include fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains (high in fiber), cold water seafood at least twice per week, cheeses, and at least 8 8oz glasses of water per day.
Many on the Atkins diet (low carbohydrate diet) have recognized considerable benefits. Most feel better and have a marked improvement in skin tone, complexion, texture, and overall health. You should not abuse this diet though. Try to limit your consumption of processed meats and consumption of saturated fats. Make sure you include a good source of dietary fiber in your daily routine. One good source of fiber that is low in available/net carbohydrates is almonds. As always, it is a good idea to consult a physician before changing your diet or daily supplement intake. |

You know that it sais the skin is the mirror for your entire body and that the skin colour and spots can easily indicate a disease in your organism. |
