I have noticed my stools are consistently split on one end (the last end to come out) The size & color are normal and no other digestive issues.. what would cause this? Could it be polyp...tumour...Should I tell my physician or is this something to ignore? Or is this the right site to ask these kinds of GI questions?
Thanks! |

| Changes in stool shape can be an indication of an obstruction or inflammation in the bowel or something as simple as a dietary change or extra fiber. This is not something that raises an immediate red flag, but it something that you may want to monitor. Obstructions tend to cause more narrow, pencil-like or ribbon-like stools. If this persists, I would recommend it to my physician just to insure that all is well. I would also suggest paying extra attention to your diet and supplementation to see if there is any type of correlation between these and your diet. |
