How Do Meat & Dairy Cause a Toxic Colon?

updated 01/07/2008

Meat and milk, in their natural states, are not completely harmful. The thing is we don't get them in their natural states. Consider the changes that cows go through before they come to us. The animals that we eat are injected with toxic antibiotics and hormones. They are fed with POP (Persistent Organic Pollutants) sprayed, genetically "enhanced" feed. All of this can be passed on to humans, as you really are what you eat. And they adversely affect our health.

Hormones

Recent Studies Indicate:
  • The relationship of these hormones to colon cancer.
  • Daily ingesting an amount equivalent to a hamburger increases your chances of developing the disease.
  • Treated cattle are excreting toxic manure with dangerously high amounts of the hormones, thus perpetuating this cycle of contamination to land, putting the natural environment and wildlife at risk.

The hormones given to cattle have been developed to increase the meat content and milk production. The hormones are administered by placing a slow-release tablet under the skin of the cows' ears. At slaughter, the ears are cut off and thrown away.

Antibiotics

Infections are rampant because cows are kept in such close proximity to one another. So, along with the hormones, cows are fed large amounts of antibiotics to fight off infections. To compound the problems with raising cows, the calves are fed the blood and other slaughterhouse waste from slaughtered cows. The rationale of the scientists is that they are fed this stuff as protein. Really, whatever health concerns the cow may have had, worms, cancerous tumors, is recycled back into the next generation of cattle, pigs and chickens.

Rendered Food

If all that isn't bad enough, there is food stuffs called "rendered" food, which is what people feed to their pets. It's also stuff that's fed to livestock which means it winds up in your supermarket, then on your plate and inside your body. Rendered food is produced from the cooking of dead and sometimes rotting animal carcasses. The animals include cattle, pigs, chickens, dogs, cats and whatever else gets caught in the mix. Pets may still be wearing collars. And it includes whatever is in and on the animals already, like antibiotics, euthanasia chemicals, pesticides and so much more.

The arguments for this are:

  • This concoction provides protein and other nutrients for pets and livestock (even though they feed less of this mess to livestock—probably they know something).
  • This animal and parts recycling saves our cities from becoming overrun with dead animals and our farms would also have tons of waste they needed to find ways to dispose of.

The truth of the matter is the rendering plants are recycling toxic waste and feeding animals to themselves, making them cannibals and progenitors of diseases that eventually return to our plates in one form or another.

Implications of Rendering Food

  • When you eat processed foods, these things are part of the process. Remember, they feed the rendered gunk to livestock too, only in lesser portions that to pets.
  • Your body is then tasked with expelling what it can't use.
  • Toxins that come from the food can’t be easily expelled. They remain in the intestinal tract for too long and some are absorbed back into the bloodstream.
  • The hormones confuse the body and it is tricked into making use of them, thus altering the endocrine system.
  • Much remains in the body creating a toxic colon and increasing the chances of cancer occurring.

How to Eliminate Toxins from Meat & Dairy

  • Eat organically grown meats: these are hormone and antibiotic-free, range-fed animals. Alternative meats are from buffalo and ostrich.
  • Decrease meat in your diet to 1 to 3 meals per week.
  • Be sure the fish you eat is uncontaminated by mercury and pesticides.
  • Avoid all processed meats including: bacon, hot dogs, sandwich meats, etc.
  • Drink only purified water.
  • Replace cow's milk with healthy natural substitutes: rice milk, almond milk, raw goat's milk or the favorite of Dr. Group's — hemp milk.
  • Organic cheese or goat cheese is healthiest for you.
  • An enzyme supplement taken when you eat meat, will aid in digestion.
  • Saliva provides the first enzymatic breakdown of food when you chew properly. Chewing each bite 25 times before swallowing is the healthy beginning to fully digesting your food.
  • Eat more vegetables and less meat during each meal.
  • Your stomach acid levels have an optimal level. Test your levels, and if they're low then a beet-derived supplement hydrochloric acid (HCI) substitute may help you. Check with a natural healthcare provider to get this
