MineralCheck® is an At-Home test that provides a simple, safe way to assess the levels of eleven minerals and nine toxins in your body using only some of your hair.
How Many Bodies Does a Person Get?
The answer is one - for all time. There are no exchanges, only parts replacements, which present many of the same issues as maintaining your own body. So, it only makes sense to keep your body as healthy as possible.
What we need to keep our bodies in pique condition is all around us. There are many substances that can upset the delicate balance the body requires to function. Helps and dangers are found just all over the place.
FOCUS: Minerals & Toxins
Minerals found in plants, animals and water. They're usually present in the body in some measurable amounts. Our bodies require them for healthy functioning. They help to maintain our vital systems:
Skeletal Structure Circulatory System Nervous System Respiratory System
How Seriously Should You Take Toxins?
Things that hurt the body, not sticks and stones, though potentially as detrimental, are as prolific in our environment as the good stuff. I refer now to toxins, those things that we need to keep minimal in, or absent from our bodies to maintain health.
Many things that present as toxins in our bodies, are useful in other areas and in fact are often naturally occurring. Toxins are substances that can build up in the body and poison the system, sometimes permanently upsetting the balance the body works to maintain. They can cause severe problems with vital systems. In point of fact, they can damage all the systems that minerals work to maintain:
Skeletal Structure: weak bone structure, poor formation
Circulatory System: hemoglobin inhibition, cardiac arrhythmias
Nervous System: neurotransmitter blockage
Respiratory System: shortness of breath
Can You Regain Your Balance?
A double whammy then is to be in a state where you have not enough minerals and too much toxins in your body. When it happens that the body goes out of balance, then you have to take measures to recover your health. There is no time to waste once you get in this situation. However, the better course of action is to pre-empt this state. And there are measures you can take for the times when your body needs a little help.
Taking the MineralCheck At-Home Test
One of the many great things that Dr. Group offers to help to head of health problems is the in-home MineralCheck®. This test provides a simple, safe way to assess the levels of eleven minerals and nine toxins in your body using only some of your hair. Simply follow the instructions to test your hair, return your hair samples in the prepaid mailer (included in your test kit) and you should receive your results in the comfort of your own home in 7 to 10 days. With this information in hand, you can make lifestyle changes that will help you to feel better and get your body back on a healthy track.
NOTE: Be sure to read the directions completely in order to get your best results.
There are no special diet restrictions for the MineralCheck® screen. However, MineralCheck cannot be performed on hair that has been permed, dyed or bleached in the past two months. Also, shampoos with dyes, colorings or special chemicals must be discontinued for three days prior to cutting hair sample. We recommend using Johnson & Johnson™ No More Tears™ baby shampoo during the week prior to the day of collecting the sample. Your hair must be dry when collecting the sample.
Care should be used in the evaluation of MineralCheck® elemental analysis results. Hair treatments or other external contaminants may affect reported levels of an element. The laboratory washing procedure will remove those elements which are soluble, but some treatments make a permanent bond to the hair and cannot be removed. These contaminants may increase some element levels.
If the hair is short, stainless steel thinning shears may be used. You may find the sample collection process easier to complete with the help of a family member or friend.

Mineral Check FAQ's
What if the hair is too short to cut? Stainless steel thinning shears may be used by placing them next to the scalp.
What if there is no new growth because of recent chemical coloring or perming? It is best to wait until new growth is available—hair grows approximately ½ inch per month. If an analysis is needed before then, save as much new growth as possible from the roots and take samples from additional places on the scalp.
May I use hair from other parts of my body? Yes. Ideally, you should use hair from your scalp, although hair from your pubic area is acceptable as well. It is important that you use hair from one area only. Mixing hair from different areas of your body will render the analysis inaccurate. You must indicated on the requisition if you chose to use hair from your pubic area.
How much scalp hair is needed? 250mg (approximately 1 heaping tablespoon) of hair is needed to properly analyze your sample. Make sure that the amount of hair in your sample tips the hair scale, as shown it Step 5. Insufficient hair samples cannot be processed

Bend the tabs down on the hair scale. Place the card tab side down on a flat surface to create a scale.
Hair samples must be dry. Take samples from the area highlighted in the illustration.
Using clean stainless steel scissors, cut off hair samples very close to the scalp. Trim the sample so it includes only about one-inch of the newest hair growth (the hair that was closest to your scalp.) Discard remaining hair.
Place the one-inch sample of new hair growth on the elevated side of the hair scale.
Repeat steps 3 and 4, collecting samples from at least seven places within the back portion of the neck until the scale tips. This should approximate 1 heaping tablespoon. Insufficient hair samples cannot be processed.
Make sure you have filled out and signed the Health Screen Request Form. Your sample will not be processed without this signed form. Also, be sure to fill out the label on the plastic hair collection bag. Place the hair sample inside and seal.
