Organic Banana Blueberry Smoothie

Smoothies are a great addition to a hot summer day, satisfying the desire for something sweet, icy cold and creamy. Adding ground flax offers a healthful boost of omega 3's, fiber and protein.

Serves 2

Ingredients Needed:

  • 1 ripe fresh or frozen organic banana, peeled and cut into 2-inch chunks
  • 1 cup frozen or fresh organic blueberries
  • 6 ounces organic blueberry yogurt
  • 3/4 cup organic milk (more or less to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon finely ground organic flax seed
  • 1 teaspoon agave nectar, or to taste
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes, optional

Place all of the ingredients in a blender and mix at top speed for approximately one minute or until smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy. If you are using frozen fruit in place of fresh fruit you may elect to omit the ice.
