updated 06/25/2008
New Stress Relief Techniques
Stress can be a very devastating thing. We all feel it from time to time, but when it is severe, or prolonged, it can cause serious health effects. Our minds begin to obsess about the things that cause us stress, making it impossible for us to relax and enjoy life. Emotional freedom becomes unattainable. Thankfully, there are many techniques to help you relieve stress. I want to tell you about two new stress relief techniques that can help you regain your emotional freedom. They are named Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP).

Did You Know? |
- The discoveries behind the new Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) have been around for over 5,000 years!¹
- Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) teaches that the direction in which people look could indicate what mood they are in or what they are thinking!²
- Emotional Freedom Techniques is considered an emotional form of acupuncture by its founder, Dr. Gary Craig.³

Emotional Freedom Techniques
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is, as its founder describes, an emotional form of acupuncture where needles are not necessary.4 It is based upon the discoveries of Eastern civilizations of over 5,000 years ago, combined with some of the theories of Albert Einstein.
Some of the Possible Benefits of EFT5 Include:
- You may notice that physical ailments begin to fade as a result of using Emotional Freedom Techniques.
- Your emotional state will improve, and you will feel better about your life.
- Using EFT as a stress management tool, you can eliminate some of your fears.
Neuro-Linguistic Programming
Neuro-linguistic programming is a model of interpersonal communication that is based on the study of language and communication. It is often considered to be a solid stress management technique that also enhances communication and personal influence.6
Some of the Possible Benefits of NLP Include:
- You can achieve emotional freedom by overcoming your self-perceived problems or fears.
- You will gain a greater appreciation for your own abilities and a stronger sense of self-confidence.
How to Eliminate Stress with EFT or NLP
Here are some things to do to take advantage of these new stress management tools:
- Do Your Research - Find out as much as you can about these techniques and how they can help you.
- Talk to Others - It should not be hard to find other people in your area who have taken part in EFT or NLP techniques. Find them, talk to them, and find out what they thought about it. They may even be able to recommend a practitioner.
- Find a Practitioner - In addition to talking to other patients who have used these techniques, talk to several practitioners of these techniques. Ask them whatever questions you may have, and make sure you feel comfortable with that doctor. Using a doctor that you are not comfortable with will not help you reduce stress.
- Reap the Benefits - Once you find a doctor you are comfortable with, you can start to see the many benefits of these new techniques.
